Help us Renovate a DV/other Shelter near City, State
Come join Greater Good Charites Rescue Rebuild program near Tulsa, OK where we will be doing some renovations for a Domestic Violence shelter to become pet-friendly. Currently, the shelter is not properly equipped to handle residents' pets but they have the desire to change that. We will be renovating rooms, adding easily cleanable surfaces, creating indoor/ outdoor kennels, creating a play yard, and more to make their shelter pet-friendly! Once we are done, the shelter will be properly equipped to have a pet program for years to come.
Dates: October 13th - October 24th, 2021
No construction experience is necessary; Rescue Rebuild is more than happy to teach you all you will need to know! We've got the tools, the safety equipment, and we'll be providing water and lunches.
The nature of work will vary, but here are some of the tasks to be expected:
Painting drywall
Installing FRP walls
Assembling dog kennels
Digging holes for dog play yard fence
Installing dog play yard fence (Chain-link)
Installing chain-link pet relief areas (Chain-link)
Assembling PVC pet furniture
Painting cat enrichment (shelves/ cubbies)
Installing cat enrichment
Due to privacy concerns for the shelter, we are required to run a background check on all volunteers before we allow you on-site. We will reach out after you sign up with the form.
We are requiring that all of our volunteers are vaccinated and can provide proof of vaccination when arriving on site.
